BERLIN

Tungjatjeta Blogging World!!!
(Tungjatjeta-- “Hello” in Albanian, pronounced toon-jah-TYEH-tah. I’ve decided a simple “Hello” is becoming quite boring so I’d like to start each post with Hello in a different language. This one was for you Ilva J)

Things have been getting really busy around here and it’s been quite a while since I last wrote about my recent travel adventures. In the mean time I’ve had the opportunity to travel to Berlin, Germany, Strasbourg, France, Copenhagen, Denmark and Malmö, Sweden. However this post shall be dedicated to Berlin!

Hmm Berlin Berlin Berlin, where can I begin? (Hey that kind of rhymes!) One might call me crazy but my heart actually beats a little faster when I think about Berlin.

Berlin is a city owned by its people—from street art, murals, graffiti, music, and sculptures there is creativity brewing on each corner. Creativity and art created by and endorsed by its people. There is a particular vibe in the city—a positive one. It is as though everyone is somehow tied up in their own world, walking to the beat of their own drum but somehow everyone’s drums seem to fit together to a larger more magnificent song.

If one is looking for a typical German experience Berlin is not the city to visit. It is so different than any other city in Germany I have visited; I had to continually remind myself I was in Germany. I found Berlin to be much more breezy, spontaneous and multicultural.

Berlin’s has a story to tell—its past and all that the city has been and what the city is today. Berlin’s history is compelling and reminders of its stories are littered throughout the streets.

Berlin has an incredible nightlife. Without a doubt, the most lively, never ending, euphoric nightlife I have ever experienced. If you are to visit Berlin, it would be a crime to miss out on its nightlife.

Below are a few pictures from my days in Berlin, enjoy!

 Checkpoint Charlie

 Holocaust Memorial
 Brandenburg Gate
 Reichstag

 The Berlin Wall

Tempelhof Park-- An Airport no longer in use in Berlin, now it's a huge park with grill areas, gardens and plenty of room to hang out.

 Berlin Cathedral
Club-Mate (one of my favourites)-- A caffeinated carbonated mate-extract drink.
Berlin Victory Column
